Veneers & Bonding

Veneers
Dental veneers are one of the fastest ways to transform your smile. A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or eMax glass, which we custom make to fit over the front surface of your teeth. They can be used to unify the look of your teeth and give you an even looking smile. Veneers can be used to align crowded or protruding teeth, close gaps and brighten tooth colour, making smiles look natural and healthy. Veneers are a good option if you have healthy teeth and are looking for a fast, dazzling and lasting smile makeover.

Composite Bonding
Veneers are a great solution for a whole smile transformation, however, for patients with small chips or gaps in their teeth or some discolouration, composite bonding may be more suitable. This can be something like changing the shape of the tooth, or teeth, with composite edge bonding or covering the surface of the tooth which is composite veneering. Edge bonding and composite veneering can often be done without any tooth preparation. We offer both at Bliss Dental and will discuss all options to achieving the smile you desire at your first consultation. During a bonding appointment, the composite resin is attached to the tooth and shaped to create a natural appearance.

Injection Moulded Composite Bonding

This method of Composite Bonding starts with a computer scan of the teeth and a virtual design of the finished result which can be viewed on your own computer or phone. Once approved, the design is 3D printed and a mould of the shape is created so the dentist can reproduce the exact shape that has been approved by the patient. This ensures the final result is what was originally intended. All that needs to be chosen is the final shade (colour). Injection moulded veneers are also stronger than regular composite (170MPa)

Edelweiss Veneers
Edelweiss veneers are a hybrid version of composite veneers and porcelain/eMax veneers. The main drawback of composite as a material is that, over time, composite absorbs stain and after 5 years can be discoloured at the edges. Edelweiss veneers are a vitrified composite shell that is very strong (200MPa) and much more robust than composite on its own. These glassy Edelweiss veneers are backed with the composite shade of choice and bonded to the tooth in the same way as composite or porcelain/eMax veneers but are less expensive than porcelain/eMax.
